The twelfth annual meeting of the Symposium on Mediterranean Archaeology (SOMA) will be hold in North Cyprus 5-8 March 2008. As it has been through the past successful meetings, this symposium will continue to provide an important opportunity for young scholars and researchers to come together and discuss their works in a friendly and supporting atmosphere. Our spectrum is getting wider due to the knowledge of the increasing importance of the interdisciplinary works in the scientific world of our era. Papers dealing with arguments like sea, trade, colonisation and also piracy are, in this sense, the most welcome. There are no limitations regarding the subject and the period. The conference language will be English, in order to maintain the usual organization of SOMA conferences. Allotted time for each paper will be presented in 20 minutes and followed by a discussion.
